Wracam ze wspomnieniami z podróży. Tym razem najlepszy chyba wyjazd mojego życia, w upragnione Himalaje. Jest o czym opowiadać i jest co wrzucać, więc podzielę tę podróż na etapy. Część pierwsza to pierwszy kontakt z Himalajami - Shimla.

I come back with my travel memories. This time, probably the best trip of my life, to the mighty Himalayas. There is something to talk about and there are some photos to share, so I will divide this journey into stages. The first stage is my first contact with the Himalayas - Shimla.

Shimla

Shimla to stolica stanu Himachal Pradesh, licząca około 150 tys. mieszkańców. Jeśli ktoś był kiedyś w jakimś typowym mieście w Indiach, to jest niemalże podobnie. Tylko, że oprócz licznych małych domków i budek są piękne widoki, wąskie i kręte drogi, trochę przyrody. No i architektura niektórych budynków jest taka bardziej górska, jak dachy na zdjęciu.

Shimla is the capital of the state of Himachal Pradesh, with a population of approximately 150,000. residents. If someone has ever been to any typical city in India, it is almost the same. Only that apart from numerous small houses and booths there are beautiful views, narrow and winding roads, a bit of nature. And the architecture of some buildings is as mountainous as the roofs in the photo.

Shimla jest głośna i tętniąca życiem. Oprócz dróg, po których kierowcy samochodów i skuterków dokonują niewyobrażalnych manewrów i słychać nieprzerwany niemal dźwięk klaksonów, nietrudno jednak znaleźć też urokliwą uliczkę pieszą, która mogłaby być w jakimkolwiek kurorcie na świecie.

Shimla is loud and lively. Besides the roads on which car and scooter drivers make unimaginable maneuvers and the almost unstopped sound of horns can be heard, it is also not difficult to find a charming pedestrian street that could be in any resort in the world.

No i te widoki w tle. W pierwszym planie po prostu góry, a w tle - ośnieżone szczyty dachu świata. Do tej pory, kiedy patrzę na te zdjęcia i wspominam ten widok, przechodzą mnie ciarki.

And those views in the background. In the foreground just mountains, and in the background - snow-capped peaks of the roof of the world. Even now, when I look at these photos and remember this sight, I get shivers.

Tu poniżej widać, jak tłoczno jest w Shimli. Niby tylko 150 tys. mieszkańców, na Indie bardzo niewiele. Ale jest to stosunkowo niewielki obszar i wrażenie jest odpowiednie.

Here below you can see how crowded Shimla is. Apparently only 150 thousand inhabitants, very few as for India. But it is a relatively small area and the impression is appropriate.

Szkoła podstawowa z internatem / Elementary boarding school

Jako, że tę podróż organizowali nasi przyjaciele, i spisali się przy tym naprawdę świetnie, mieliśmy okazję odwiedzić nietuzinkowe miejsce - szkołę podstawową z internatem w Shimli. Zobaczcie tylko, jaki niesamowity klimat. Oczywiście w wielu miejscach zdjęć nie zrobiłam, bo chyba nie wypadało. Ale poniżej to co udało mi się uwiecznić.

As this trip was organized by our friends and they did a great job organizing it, we had the opportunity to visit an extraordinary place - a primary boarding school in Shimla. Just see what an amazing place. Of course, I did not take many pictures, because it probably was not right. But below is what I was able to capture.

Domy, kapitanowie, rozgrywki krykieta... Miałam wrażenie, że to nie krykiet, a quidditch, a te sale to Hogwartowe są.

Houses, captains, cricket games ... I had the impression that it wasn't cricket, but Quidditch, and these halls are Hogwarts.

Jakhu Temple Park

Świątynia Jakhu położona jest na najwyższym punkcie Shimli i poświęcona jest Hanumanowi. Wysoką postać bóstwa widać zresztą z daleka - jest też widoczna na zdjęciach, które już zamieściłam powyżej. Warto tam podjechać i zobaczyć posąg z bliska. No i oczywiście masę mieszkańców świątynnych okolic - małpy.

Jakhu Temple is situated on the highest point of Shimla and is dedicated to Hanuman. The tall figure of the deity can be seen from a distance - it is also visible in the photos I have already posted above. It is worth going there and seeing the statue up close. And, of course, a lot of inhabitants of the temple area - monkeys.

No i oczywiście, jako że jesteśmy w najwyższym punkcie Shimli - jak tylko wyjdziemy zza drzew rozpościera się przedni widok na te cudne szczyty. Uwielbiam i napatrzeć się nie mogę.

And of course, as we are at the highest point of Shimla - as soon as we come out from behind the trees line there is a front view of these wonderful peaks. I love it and cannot stop looking at it.

Rashtrapati Niwas

W Shimli znajduje się także zabytek epoki kolonialnej - Rashtrapati Niwas, siedziba wicekróla Indii. Europejczyka architektonicznie może niewiele tu zaskoczy, ale z pewnością muzeum i okolice warte są odwiedzenia.

In Shimla there is also a monument of the colonial era - Rashtrapati Niwas, the seat of the Viceroy of India. Architecturally, not much may come as a surprise to a European, but the museum and its surroundings are definitely worth visiting.
