23 października 2014 roku przy ulicy Chopina w Katowicach w godzinach wczesnoporannych doszło do wybuchu kamienicy, w którym zginęli Dziennikarz "Faktów" TVN Dariusz Kmiecik, jego żona dziennikarka TVP Katowice Brygida Frosztęga-Kmiecik oraz dwuletni syn.
Było to wydarzenie, które dość mocno wstrząsnęło mieszkańcami Katowic, pojawiały się nawet jakieś teorie spiskowe. Prokuratura doszła do wniosku, że wybuch został spowodowany naumyślnie przez lokatora kamienicy, mieszkającego pod dziennikarzami. Zdaniem śledczych mężczyzna celowo rozkręcił elementy instalacji gazowej w łazience swojego mieszkania. Sprawca również zmarł w wyniku wybuchu, więc śledztwo zostało umorzone.

On October 23, 2014, in the early morning hours, a tenement house exploded at Chopin Street in Katowice, in which Dariusz Kmiecik, journalist of "Fakty" TVN, his wife Brygida Frosztęga-Kmiecik, journalist of TVP Katowice, and their two-year-old son were killed.
It was an event that shook the inhabitants of Katowice quite strongly, there were even some conspiracy theories. The prosecutor's office concluded that the explosion was deliberately caused by the tenant of the tenement house, living under the journalists. According to investigators, the man deliberately disassembled the elements of the gas installation in the bathroom of his apartment. The perpetrator also died as a result of the blast, so the investigation was dropped.

Dziś, ponad 8 lat po wybuchu, na ulicy Chopina wciąż jest dziura w ziemi. Miasto sprzedało swoje udziały w tej kamienicy dopiero w 2020 roku. To jednak nie koniec procedur, bo inwestor musi nabyć również pozostałe udziały, aby rozpocząć odbudowę, i to rzecz jasna nie jest takie proste. Tak więc w marcu 2023 roku w samiuteńkim centrum Katowic wciąż jest dziura, która straszy, a jednocześnie przypomina o tej smutnej tragedii.

Today, more than 8 years after the explosion, there is still a hole in the ground on Chopin Street. The city sold its shares in this tenement house only in 2020. However, this is not the end of the procedures, because the investor must also purchase the remaining shares in order to start rebuilding, and it is obviously not that simple. So in March 2023, in the very center of Katowice, there is still a hole that scares and at the same time reminds you of this sad tragedy.

Czy faktycznie winny był przypadkowy mieszkaniec kamienicy? Tuż po tragedii pojawiały się kontrowersyjne głosy o agenturze rosyjskiej. Wtedy nikt tego raczej nie brał na poważnie. Dziś, tyle lat później, patrząc na wszystko co wokół się dzieje, zasadniczo niczego nie można być pewnym.

A tu automatyczne prostowanie google. Ciekawe jest to, że nie skadrował prawej strony, pozostawiając czarny trójkąt tam, gdzie skończyło się zdjęcie. Do decyzji użytkownika pozostaje, czy będzie chciał to uciąć, czy nie. Kadr nie jest do końca wyprostowany - ale chyba wygląda to naturalniej, niż w mojej wersji. Góra też niestety jest nieco rozmazana - nie jest idealnie.
